Hi,
I am a doctor and Brahmachari, and have been only shortly associated with Sanathana Dharma.
Firstly, am happy to see this blog. Spiritual research is the need of the hour. A lot of my intellectual misconceptions about Dharma (due to our biased education system) were removed after I came in touch with Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathy of Kerala (who later accepted me as His disciple).
He has taken MahaSamadhi in November 2006. However , in the very short time I spent with Him, I got to know the real meaning of Rama, Rama Rajya, Rama Pooja, Ramayana, etc. Such ardent devotion to Sree Rama’s feet, I had never seen or imagined, and it converted me to real spirituality.
The reason why I say this is, that the ‘7000 years BC’ you say is incorrect. It is vedically calculated to be in the range of millions of years ago. And life did exist millions of years back on earth, it is proven (dinosaurs, etc. fossils were found).
Swamiji has written whole books on Ramayana, the meaning, the concepts and how they apply to adhyatma, society, politics, and morality, etc. He has also translated Tulasidas Ramayana to English, and written Ramayana in Malayalam ( both to be published soon).
Therefore I wished to inform you as to the need to investigate and correct the dates. Please do not be skeptical, this was confirmed by many scholarly books, and by Swamiji Himself, to me.
